Basketball Africa League's regular season brought in +40k new subscribers on Youtube
Basketball enthusiasts showed up online for the Season 4 of the Basketball Africa League 📲.
The Basketball Africa League (BAL) is gearing up for an exciting playoff showdown in Kigali and has an additional 40k subscribers on its YouTube channel to show for it !
Traditionally, the BAL has reached fans across 215 countries through esteemed media partners like beIN MEDIA GROUP, CANAL+ Group, ESPN, Tencent, and Voice of America, alongside streaming options on the league's website 🏀🌍.
💻 In its fourth season, the BAL has taken a significant leap forward in bolstering its digital presence by live-streaming games on its YouTube Channel. The regular season broadcasts garnered a staggering 1.5 million views across all games and a notable boost of 40k subscribers (according to Youtube Data).
Notably, the most-watched game, attracting 125k views, was the clash between 🇷🇼 Rwanda’s APR and 🇸🇳 Senegal’s AS Douanes, where the latter secured the last ticket to the BAL playoffs.
While the league grapples with engaging audiences at the arena during non-local team matchups, this latest online achievement underscores the existing interest for fans in Africa and beyond for African sports content.
As the US sports streaming landscape grows ever-more fragmented, streaming giants and online video platforms should definitely think to look at emerging markets and their audiences !
